Oxegen is an annual music festival, the first of which occurred in 2004, sponsored by Heineken. Oxegen was previously called Witnness, and ran from 2000 being sponsered by Guinness. Oxegen takes place at the Punchestown Racecourse, Co. Kildare in the Republic of Ireland and has an average attendance of around 80,000 people per day, with around half of these camping on site for the duration of the event, and the rest travelling to the site each day.
In Oxegen Festival there are 6 stages of music and 2 huge areas for camping which are numerically subdivided. There are also stalls and shops all around the enclosed area, and excellent toilet areas.
Bands already confirmed for the festival include Kaiser Chiefs, Interpol, The Raconteurs, The Chemical Brothers, Hot Chip and Justice.
