Beck stated in an interview with Rolling Stone that he has been working on a new album "with an unnamed producer" and that he expects it to be released by the end of the year. The new album may be pushed up to an earlier release date, possibly as early as June. In March 2008, the unnamed producer was revealed to be Danger Mouse, and was also confirmed that folk singer Cat Power would be making contributions to the album.
