Elbow Release October Tour Dates for Liverpool & Manchester
01 July 2008
Manchester band Elbow have announced a UK autumn tour that includes dates at Liverpool University and Manchester Apollo. Elbow kicks off in Cambridge on Monday 6th October. The band will be live and in action at Liverpool University on Wednesday, October 22 and at the Manchester Apollo on Thursday October 23.
Could you forgive yourself if you missed the evocative rapture of Guy Garvey's lyrics backed up by Mark Potter, Craig Potter, the wicked bassist Pete Turner and Richard Jupp's banging drum lines? Do not miss Elbow hitting the highways and coming to a town near you before they close the tour on October 23.
Elbow has received vast critical acclaim and been endorsed by major artists Blur, , R.E.M. and U2. The Velvet Underground's co-founder John Cale selected Elbow's 'Switching Off' as one of his eight chosen records on the BBC's 'Desert Island Discs' radio programme. Elbow also recently headlined at Delamere Forest on June 14, 2008 and opened for Massive Attack's Meltdown at the Royal Festival Hall as well as hosted the Brixton Academy show.
Elbow is high as a kite on the smashing reviews they've received on the release of their latest album “The Seldom Seen Kid”. Elbow also recently headlined at Delamere Forest on June 14, 2008 and played at the sold out Brixton Academy show to adoring fans. Elbow ended their three-song encore with a rapturous rendition of 'Grace Under Pressure', with the crowd chanting the lyrics, 'We believe in love, so fuck you' loudly at the end of the set. Elbow was joined again for the song by Hawley and support band Two Gallants.
